A social media strategy gives your business authenticity, it’s as simple as that! With most things in tech, the social media world is very fast paced, we see updates and changes made every day to our favourite platforms. It can be hard work to keep on top of it all, tracking news, best practices, and future trends all while building your profile on social.

We’ve rolled out 5 ways how you can stay ahead of the game!

Having a strong brand profile

One of the primary reasons that people buy from a business is because they trust the brand and see the value of its offerings. Social media is an excellent starting point to showcase your business and to reach your target audience. Just remember to remain consistent on every social media channel you choose.

Building a brand reputation

Your brand needs to connect with your desired audience to build a strong brand presence, increase revenue, and push website traffic. Brands use social media in a myriad of different ways and one of the most important ones is ‘brand reputation’. A business needs to know what people are saying about its brand, so constant social media monitoring and responding to relevant mentions (social media listening and engagement) is key!  This will help your business understand its performance on social media and will also analyse the reach, engagement, and sales through social media.

Keeping content fresh

Content is still king! Not only for SEO but for all social media platforms. Fresh authentic content keeps returning customers engaged, in fact, it’s like being a DJ (your brand) at an awesome party (social media channels) trying to entertain your crowd by playing great music (fresh content).

Timing is key!

No one likes ads; in fact, they are very much hated! But every marketer knows that audiences click on ads if the timing is right. The assumption is that well-timed ads that match the consumers needs, and interests are very much clickable. Search engines like Google will also rate the ads by quality score, if the score is good and the ad is relevant to the query, it will show up at the time of query and will not interrupt user experience.

Choosing the right platform!

It’s impossible to be active on every social media platform out there whilst running a hands-on business. Narrowing down your choice to just a few platforms will allow you to focus your efforts and get the best return on your time investment.

So how do you choose? Identify your audience, are they Millennials?  Baby boomers or Elderly? Once the audience is selected, then it’s time to revisit your goals. What are you hoping to achieve? More sales? Brand awareness? Now that you have your audience profiled and your goals defined, it’s time to find your audience. To do this, you’re going to determine which platform your audience uses by looking at the demographics of the users on each platform.

Once the platforms are selected make sure the posts are consistent, consistency through social platforms will help grow and identify your brand. For example, when we see ‘just do it’ anywhere we automatically think of Nike.
